โOfficers Benjamin Kovacevic and Sydney Richardson first responded to 150 Pleasant Street and spoke to [a man] who stated there were no issues, but that his sister, [name redacted], lived next door at 142 Prospect Street,โ Officer Richardson said. โOfficers met with [the woman] at 142 Pleasant Street, who stated that she had two individuals, subsequently identified as Alicia [last name redacted] and her boyfriend Larry Bezio, spending the night at her residence, above the garage area, which was set up like a small apartment.
According to police, Larry J. Bezio Jr., 38, resides on N Main Street in Orange, MA.
โ[The woman] directed officers to the area where [Alicia] and [Bezio] were staying, and crying could be heard,โ Officer Richardson said. She opened the slider door and yelled into the area, but received no response.
โ[The woman] then walked into the apartment with officers, and Officer Kovacevic located Bezio lying in a bed by himself, awake,โ Officer Richardson said.
Officer Richardson said he then went to another bedroom in the area where he located Alicia, who was bleeding, and called for Officer Kovacevic.

โAt approximately that same time, Bezio got out of bed and informed Officer Kovacevic that โsheโ [Alicia] would need help because he (Bezio) had stabbed โher,โโ Officer Richardson said. โOfficer Kovacevic, who was caught off guard, questioned Bezio about what he had just said. Bezio again stated that he had stabbed โher.โ”
Officer Kovacevic then ordered Bezio to the ground, where Officer Richardson placed him in handcuffs.
The officers then provided medical aid to Alicia, and while doing so, Officer Richardson observed a knife with blood on it next to her.
โThe knife appeared to be a large, sharp kitchen knife,โ Officer Richardson said.
Alicia was subsequently transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for treatment.
Bezio was then transported to the Orange Police Station by Orange Police Lieutenant Adam Cooley.
โState Police Detective Lieutenant Steven Hean and Trooper Anthony Ott arrived at the station shortly after and spoke with Bezio in the booking room at the station,โ Officer Richardson said. โBezio was informed that the troopers were wearing body-worn cameras that were recording audio/video.โ
Detective Lieutenant Hean then read Bezio his Miranda rights.
โWhen asked if he understood his rights, Bezio replied, โYes,โ” Officer Richardson said. โWhen asked if, having his rights in mind, he would speak with Detective Lieutenant Hean and Trooper Ott, Bezio replied, โI have no problem speaking to you.โ”
Officer Richardson said that, during the interview, Bezio made the following statements:
a) โBezio stated that he had been in an intimate/dating relationship with Alicia since February.โ
b) โBezio stated that he had recently been hospitalized for a medical condition, and while he was hospitalized, Alicia had โcheatedโ on him.โ
c) โBezio stated that he had recently been staying at his uncle’s residence, located on North Main Street in Orange.โ
d) โBezio stated that day, he and Alicia had decided to stay at 142 Pleasant Street, after permission had been granted by the homeowner, so that he and Alicia could have some quiet/personal time together. Bezio stated that he and Alicia arrived at 142 Pleasant Street sometime after 4 p.m. (estimated to be around 5 p.m.). Bezio explained that the homeowner was out of town.โ
e) โBezio stated that while at the residence, he and Alicia consumed alcohol (approximately 10 nips of whiskey each) and had consensual sex. Bezio added that he had also consumed some edibles (referring to THC edibles), which help him sleep. Bezio stated that he believed Alicia also consumed some edibles. Afterward, Bezio stated that he and Alicia began arguing. He stated that Alicia was laughing in his face, and telling him to get out of the apartment as he was trying to find his pants. (Note: When Bezio was arrested, he was nude from the waist down).โ
f) โBezio explained that he became very angry. He stated that he punched Alicia in the head. Hะต stated that he then went downstairs into the kitchen area of the residence before returning upstairs to where Alicia was. Although Bezio indicated that he didn’t specifically remember getting the knife from the kitchen, he indicated that he believed that was where he acquired it.โ
g) โBezio stated that when he went back upstairs, Alicia was in the bedroom area of the living space above the garage. Bezio stated that he remembered stabbing Alicia in her body. Hะต added that he could not remember how many times he stabbed her or exactly where he had stabbed her. Bezio stated that he believed the knife he had used may have broken during the stabbing (indicating that the blade may have become separated from the handle).โ
h) โBezio stated that after the stabbing, he called 911.โ
i) โBezio stated that after the stabbing, he laid down in a bed that was in another area of the living space above the garage (closer to the entry door by the wooden staircase), which is where he was when Orange police officers responded. Bezio stated that he immediately regretted what he did.โ
j) โBezio stated that Alicia had never been physical with him in the past and stated that she had never made him fear for his safety. Bezio added, โI f*cked up, and I should pay for it.โ When asked, Bezio stated that he has had anger issues before, but claimed he had never been violent in the past.โ
k) โState Police Lieutenant Gregory Denys responded to Worcester Medical Center, where he spoke with Doctor Johnthan Madore, the attending trauma doctor who attended to Alicia. Lieutenant Denys learned from Doctor Mador that Alicia suffered an approximately one-centimeter stab wound to her right pectoral muscle. Alicia was on a ventilator and unconscious. Doctor Mador classified Aliciaโs status as โcritical, but stable.โ Lieutenant Denys secured the clothing that was worn by Alicia in paper bags that were later placed into temporary evidence.โ
Larry Bezio was charged with the following:
- Armed Assault to Murder
- Assault & Battery with Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated)
- Assault & Battery on Family/Household Member
Following his arrest, Bezio was held without bail pending his arraignment, which was scheduled for June 15, 2025, in Orange District Court.
