โ€œWhile attempting to evade police Acosta crossed the double yellow lines on South Street as well as the fog line while weaving in and out of traffic he almost collided with multiple vehicles,โ€ Officer Ostiguy said. โ€œAcosta’s operation of the motorcycle put the other motoring public’s safety at risk.โ€

Officer Ostiguy said that when Acosta reached the intersection of South Street and Hartford Turnpike, he attempted to take a right turn onto Hartford Turnpike but ended up dumping the bike in the middle of the highway.

โ€œHe then picked himself up from the roadway and ran into a heavily wooded area where he hid from officers as a perimeter was established,โ€ Officer Ostiguy said. โ€œWhile the perimeter was being established, Acosta jumped a fence on Green Street and was stopped by officers.โ€

Officer Ostiguy said that while officers attempted to place Acosta into custody, he resisted arrest by tucking his arms underneath his body while he was prone on the ground.

โ€œAfter a query check of Acosta dispatch confirmed he has a suspended license,โ€ Officer Ostiguy said. โ€œUpon further investigation of the motorcycle the VIN was also confirmed by dispatch to come back as stolen as of June 24, 2025, out of Oxbridge, ะœะ.โ€

Jhadiel Acosta was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Failure Stop for Police
  2. Speeding
  3. Marked Lanes Violation
  4. Operation to Endanger
  5. Operating Motor Vehicle with License Suspended
  6. Resisting Arrest
  7. Receive Stolen Motor Vehicle

Acostaโ€™s bail was set at $200.

Acosta was arraigned in Westborough District Court on July 28, 2025. His next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 15, 2025.
