“The reporting party was identified as [name redacted] and she identified the male party as her son, Sean Harvey,” Officer Brunelle said.
According to police, Sean C. Harvey, 35, is a resident of Indian Road, Dudley, MA.
“Upon arrival Officer Smith and I approached the doorway to the house; Sean Harvey was walking out to speak with us,” Officer Brunelle said. “Sean was very angry and upset telling us to stay away from him and telling us to get off his property. As Officer Smith was speaking with Sean, I observed a knife in his left front pocket, I grabbed the knife from his pocket. Sean became very angry and started yelling and cursing at me.”
As Officer Smith was speaking with Harvey, Officer Brunelle said he went to speak with Sean’s girlfriend.

“As I started to walk back into the house, Sean started yelling and followed me into the house,” Officer Brunelle said. “Sean then became physical and shoved me; Officer Smith and I immediately grabbed Sean’s arms to put him in handcuffs. I was able to get one of his hands cuffed, Sean then began resisting Officer Smith and me.”
The officers then escorted Harvey to the ground to gain control of him, Officer Brunelle reported.
“Sean continued to resist by laying on his arm. Officer Smith gave verbal commands to Sean to release his arm from under him,” Officer Brunelle said. “Sean then gave up and Officer Smith was able to get Sean’s arm behind his back, and I was able to put the other handcuff on. Sean was yelling and trying to pull away from Officer Smith and I while we were transporting him to the cruiser. While in the back of the cruiser Sean was banging his head on the cage, we then got Sean out of the cruiser, and he calmed down.”
Officer Brunelle said that while Officer Smith transported Harvey to the Dudley Police Department, he went to speak with Harvey’s mother and girlfriend.
“I asked [Harvey’s girlfriend] if Sean hit her and she said no,” Officer Brunelle said. “[Harvey’s girlfriend] and I went into the house to show me what Sean broke, which was a fan and a shelf he pulled off the wall. I advised [Harvey’s girlfriend] of her 209A [i.e., abuse prevention order] rights, and she declined. I spoke with [Harvey’s mother] and advised her of her 209A rights, and she declined.”
Officer Brunelle said that, back at the station, Harvey was fingerprinted, booked, and offered medical attention, which he declined.
“During the booking process, Sean was very cooperative and apologized for his actions at the house,” Officer Brunelle said.
Harvey’s bail was set at $500.
“Sean was advised that he is not to go back to his house tonight per his bail terms,” Officer Brunelle said.
Sean Harvey was charged with the following:
- Assault & Battery on Police Officer
- Resist Arrest
- Disorderly Conduct
Harvey was arraigned in Dudley District Court on Aug. 7, 2025. Harvey’s next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 15, 2025.
