According to a statement issued by the Southbridge Police Department, 28-year-old Samson J. The arrest took place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., when members of the department’s Detective Division were conducting surveillance in the Central Street area. Officers observed a vehicle arrive in the Central Street parking lot, and the driver, later identified as Normandin, exited the vehicle and began walking toward Dean Street.

Detectives, acting on prior intelligence, made contact with Normandin and initiated a search, recovered suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and cocaine (all packaged for distribution). A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded additional quantities of suspected cocaine, a firearm “with numerous live rounds of ammunition,” and oxycodone hydrochloride.

Samson Normandin faces the following charges:

  1. Trafficking in cocaine
  2. Trafficking in fentanyl
  3. Possession of a Class B substance (Oxycodone)
  4. Possession of a firearm without a license to carry
  5. Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  6. Improper storage of a firearm
  7. Unlawful possession of ammunition

Police said Normandin was held on $25,000 cash bail pending his arraignment in Dudley District Court on Friday, September 12, 2025.

In its statement, Southbridge police noted that since January 2025, more than 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with drug-related activity at or near 16 Dean Street. A separate search warrant execution in May reportedly led to the seizure of crack cocaine and ammunition at the same address.

“Our department remains committed to addressing drug-related activity in our community and will continue to pursue investigations that hold individuals accountable for the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics,” the Southbridge Police Department said in its statement.
