WORCESTER — Two Worcester men are facing firearms charges after a shooting incident on Boys & Girls Club Way Thursday evening left one of them injured.
According to a statement from the Worcester Police Department, at approximately 5:40 p.m. on September 25, 2025, police and members of the department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area. Upon arrival, officers found a firearm and other evidence at the scene. A bullet hole was discovered in the rear passenger side door of a vehicle, and another was located in the front window of a nearby apartment.
While officers were responding to the scene, they spotted a man walking on Hammond Street who immediately began running through traffic toward Canterbury Street, while clutching his waistband. Police caught up with him and took him into custody.
The man, identified as 22-year-old Willie Watson of Worcester, was allegedly carrying a loaded firearm. Police say he does not have a license to carry and is now facing multiple charges, including:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
- Resisting Arrest
- Disorderly Conduct
- Disturbing the Peace
Shortly after, 20-year-old Chance Toney arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police say Toney was at the scene of the shooting and was also armed. He does not possess a license to carry and had an outstanding warrant.
Toney was charged with:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Possessing an Untraceable Firearm
- Warrant Arrest
No members of the public were injured. The Worcester Police Department’s Detective Bureau and the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit are actively investigating the incident.
