BOURNE — On October 8, 2025, at approximately 1:18 p.m., the Bourne Police Department was dispatched to the Scenic Highway between Edghill Road and Herring Pond Road following multiple 911 calls reporting a three-vehicle crash.
According to a statement from the Bourne Police Department, further reports indicated there were serious injuries, people trapped in a vehicle, and a vehicle was on fire.

“Bourne Fire Department was first on scene, extinguished the fire and immediately began to render life-saving care,” the Bourne Police Department said in its statement. “Bourne police officers arrived shortly after and assisted in providing care and getting all involved parties transported to local area hospitals. The vehicles involved all sustained heavy damage.”
The vehicles involved in the crash were a 2022 Red Hyundai Kona operated by a 23-year-old man from Carver, a 2010 blue Audi Q5 operated by a 46-year-old man from Lowell, and a green 2025 BMWX1 operated by a 53-year-old man from Truro.
The man who was driving the Hyundai Kona sustained, serious, life-threatening injuries.
The Bourne Police Department said in a social media post made at approximately 5:36 p.m. today that Scenic Highway partially reopened at 4:43 p.m.
