Person shot multiple times in Beverly airlifted to hospital

BEVERLY — On Saturday, Oct. 11, at approximately 7:17 p.m., Beverly police responded to Simon Street after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.

According to a statement from Beverly’s Police Chief John LeLacheur, when officers arrived on scene, they located an individual suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital by medical helicopter and their condition remains unknown at this time.

“At this time it appears that this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public,” Chief LeLacheur said in his statement.

The incident remains under investigation by Beverly police, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police.
