According to evidence presented at trial, over the course of five months, Lemelin – who was a wrestling coach at Burlington High School at the time – sent sexually explicit messages and obscene material, including three photographs of his genitals, to the officer posing as a 14-year-old girl over Kik Messenger. Lemelin also proposed meeting the girl in person for sex, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts said.

Each count of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David G. Tobin and Eric L. Hawkins.
