SANDWICH — A 67-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of his sister at a residence in Sandwich.
Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois and Sandwich Police Chief Jason Keene announced that Kenneth Beltrame, 67, of Sandwich, was charged with murder in connection with the death of his 61-year-old sister, Jennifer Beltrame.
According to Sandwich police, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, officers responded to a request for a well-being check on a woman at a residence in town.
When police arrived on scene, a man identified as Kenneth Beltrame, was outside the residence. Beltrame informed police that his sister was inside the home and that she was deceased.
Investigators subsequently located the body of Kenneth’s 61-year-old sister, Jennifer Beltrame, inside the home. Police said there were “obvious signs of violent trauma to her body.”
Detectives with the Sandwich Police Department, along with State Police detectives assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office, began an investigation that included interviews and the execution of a search warrant at the residence.
Chief Keene and District Attorney Galibois said Beltrame was advised of his Miranda rights and provided an electronically recorded statement to investigators.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Beltrame was scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on March 25, 2026, on the murder charge.
District Attorney Galibois and Chief Keene extended condolences to the victim’s loved ones.
