BOSTON — On Monday, October 5, 2026, former White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci and BBC U.S. Special Correspondent Katty Kay, co-hosts of the political podcast The Rest Is Politics: US, will bring a live rendition of their show to The Wilbur in Boston ahead of the midterms.
The Boston stop is part of the podcast’s first full North American live tour, announced May 7, 2026. The tour will run from Oct. 2 to Oct. 12 and visit Atlanta, Toronto, Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Minneapolis and Chicago ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
According to the announcement, The Rest Is Politics: US explores “the day-to-day drama of the White House and the complexities of American society.” The show pairs Scaramucci, a Harvard Law School graduate who became one of Trump’s public critics after his 11-day stint in the administration, with Kay, his perfect foil, a longtime journalist with the BBC whose reporting brings a global perspective to American politics and international affairs. The show attracts more than eight million streams per month and ranks among top podcasts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
Each live show will open with Kay and Scaramucci breaking down the biggest political stories of the moment, with the conversation tailored to each city. The second half of each event will include audience participation, live polls, Q&As and unscripted exchanges.
“Politics is moving at extraordinary speed, and the midterms will be a major test of where the country is heading next,” Kay said in the announcement. “What makes this tour so exciting is the chance to take the conversation beyond Washington and hear directly from audiences across North America. The show has always tried to make sense of America not just through the headlines, but through the people, pressures and forces shaping everyday life. Doing that live, in the middle of such a consequential political year, feels especially important.”
Scaramucci said the midterms will reveal “a huge amount about the future of Trump’s presidency, the direction of the Republican Party, and whether the country can still argue without setting the furniture on fire — ideally before the orange man starts rearranging it again.”
Scaramucci added, “Katty and I don’t always agree, which is why the show works, but we can kick things around, have a laugh, and show that politics doesn’t have to be a screaming match to be entertaining,”
Tom Whiter, general manager of politics and current affairs at Goalhanger, a media company involved in the tour’s production, said Kay and Scaramucci offer “a sophisticated alternative to the fractured and divisive rhetoric online.”
