California man arrested in Clinton after report of fight inside SUV outside Nina’s Pizza

CLINTON — On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 10:16 p.m., the Clinton Public Safety Dispatch Center received a non-emergency call reporting that a man and woman were fighting inside a small, red SUV parked outside Nina’s Pizza on High Street.

“At approximately 10:17 p.m. Officer Kristopher Vazquez, and I arrived on scene,” Clinton Police Officer John McNamara said.

Officer Shane Gilman, and Sergeant Joseph Lefebvre also responded to the scene.

Officer McNamara said that when he arrived on scene, he observed multiple people inside and outside of a red Kia Niro with Massachusetts plates.

“At this time, I advised everyone to get out of the vehicle and to go on the sidewalk,” Officer McNamara said.

Officer McNamara said a male in the back seat — later identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Mazur — refused to get out of the vehicle.

“Officer Vazquez and I advised Mr. Mazur to get out multiple times; he finally exited the vehicle with assistance from Officer Vazquez and myself as he could not stand out of the vehicle on his own,” Officer McNamara said. “We then advised him to sit on the sidewalk. He became agitated and kept stating to let him go.”

Officer McNamara said Officer Vazquez had to hold Mazur to keep him upright.

“While trying to speak to the other involved parties Mr. Mazur continued his tumultuous behavior, yelling, and screaming attracting the attention of other parties standing outside in the area and driving by on High Street,” Officer McNamara said. “At this time, we placed him in handcuffs (DL) [double locked] and escorted him to the cruiser.”

Officer McNamara said that when he spoke with 26-year-old Lynda [last name redacted], she told him Mazur was her friend and that they were from California.

“They were out at Breakaway Billiards earlier, had been drinking, and subsequently got kicked out of the bar,” Officer McNamara said. “Lynda stated Mr. Mazur had been drinking heavily, and while in the vehicle, a physical altercation took place. Mr. Mazur grabbed her multiple times; Lynda had red marks on her neck. The other involved parties were just trying to break up the altercation.”

Officer McNamara said he then spoke with 37-year-old Jaclyn [last name redacted], who said she was willing to pick up Mazur later if needed and provided a phone number for him to call.

“I advised her I would pass it along,” Officer McNamara added.

“It should be noted that Mr. Mazur was emitting a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage [from his person], his speech was slurred, and while I was attempting to speak to other parties involved, Mr. Mazur was in the back of the cruiser and continuously kicked the back door and was yelling and screaming profanities,” Officer McNamara explained.

Mazur was then transported to the Clinton Police Station by Officer Shane Gilman.

“It should be noted that once in the back of the cruiser Mr. Mazur continued yelling, due to his uncooperative behavior Mr. Mazur was placed directly in a male cell and was booked later, when he became cooperative,” Officer McNamara said. “After booking, Mr. Mazur was placed in a male cell to await bail. The bail commissioner was contacted, and bail was set.” (Please note: Officer McNamara’s report did not include the amount of Mazur’s bail).

Nicholas Mazur, 29, of California, was charged with the following:

  • Disturbing the Peace
  • Disorderly Conduct
