TEHRAN — Iran says there will be no final agreement with the United States to end the war unless attacks on Lebanon also stop.
According to Iranian state media, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said during a press conference Monday that a ceasefire in Lebanon is an integral part of any broader final agreement to end the war.
Baghaei then accused Israel of violating the April 8 ceasefire agreement by continuing attacks in Lebanon. He also accused the United States of violating the same ceasefire agreement through what he described as a continuing naval blockade of Iranian ports and aggression against Iranian commercial shipping.
Regarding President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran’s buried enriched uranium is going to be removed and destroyed, and whether Iran needs foreign technology to access the Fordow site, Baghaei said Iran knows “very well how to proceed” when action is needed on nuclear issues.
He added that no nuclear-related negotiations with the United States have taken place at this stage, and that Iran’s current focus is on ending the war.
