WORCESTER — On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Worcester police responded to the area of Canterbury and Grand streets following a report that a truck had struck a pedestrian.
According to the Worcester Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they found a female victim suffering from severe injuries to her head and leg. Police applied a tourniquet to her leg.
Worcester Fire and EMS pronounced the woman dead at 10:09 a.m. She was later identified as Van Thi Khanh Doan of Worcester.
The Worcester Police Department said that the preliminary investigation indicated that Doan was crossing Canterbury Street in the crosswalk when a tow truck approached the intersection of Canterbury and Grand streets and turned left, striking her.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash and will determine whether the tow truck operator will face charges.
