HUDSON — On Saturday, June 6, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Hudson police responded to the area of 79 Main Street following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
According to a statement from the Hudson Police Department issued on June 12, 2026, when first responders arrived on scene, they located an 85-year-old man suffering from injuries consistent with a crash.
The 85-year-old man — who was later identified as James Calf of Hudson — was subsequently transported to an area hospital.
Hudson police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
On Monday, June 8, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner notified the Hudson Police Department that Calf had been pronounced dead at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hudson Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
