PRINCETON — On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 11:26 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to 132 Mirick Road following a report of a structure fire.

According to the Princeton Fire Department, the fire originated on the front porch of the residence. Multiple tanker companies established a water supply, though the department said the amount of water needed to extinguish the fire was relatively limited.

The majority of the work involved opening walls on the first and second floors to locate and extinguish hidden fire extension.

The fire was contained to the exterior walls of the front right ground-floor room and the second-floor room directly above it, the Princeton Fire Department reported.

Mutual aid was provided by the fire departments from Holden, Rutland, Sterling, Westminster, Boylston and Oakham. The Leominster and Hubbardston fire departments provided station coverage during the incident.

The Princeton Fire Department also thanked Officer Rob Sargood and Officer Joe Cecchi, who arrived first on scene and provided initial size-up information to incoming units.

Chief Thomas Kokernak, a Princeton resident, was the first firefighter on scene and provided early assistance, according to the department.
