MARSTON MILLS — On Friday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department responded to the Cape Cod Airfield following reports that a skydiver had become entangled in a tree prior to landing.
According to the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire & Rescue Department, when firefighters arrived on scene, they located the skydiver, who was suspended approximately 30 feet above the ground. Fire officials say another individual had climbed the tree in an attempt to help the skydiver.
Firefighters assigned to Ladder 1 raised the department’s aerial ladder up the tree and used chainsaws to remove branches around the two people. Firefighters brought both individuals safely to the ground without further incident.
After confirming that no additional hazards were present, crews secured the scene and returned to service, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire & Rescue Department said.
