LYNN — The death that occurred on South Common Street in Lynn on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, is being investigated as an apparent homicide.
According to Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy, Lynn police responded to the 200 block of South Common Street at approximately 6:18 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 52-year-old man “with apparent trauma.” He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, the Lynn Police Department, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Authorities said there is not believed to be any wider threat to the public at this time.
The man’s identity was withheld Friday pending notification of his next of kin.
