SHREWSBURY — On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Shrewsbury Police Officer Garrett Ostiguy reported that a 35-year-old Worcester man allegedly shoplifted more than $350 worth of merchandise from the Price Chopper at 731 Boston Turnpike.

According to Officer Ostiguy, while he was inside Price Chopper, Joshua A. Wadsworth took various retail items and concealed them inside a luggage bag under his accomplice’s immediate control.
“The concealed merchandise belonged exclusively to the merchant and was displayed for sale,” Officer Ostiguy said.
Wadsworth then allegedly walked past all available points of sale and exited the store with the concealed merchandise without attempting to pay for it.
“The total retail value of the recovered merchandise was determined to be $350.31,” Officer Ostiguy said. “The defendant’s actions demonstrate a specific intent to permanently deprive the merchant of its full retail value.”
Joshua A. Wadsworth, 35, of Worcester, was charged with the following:
- Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise, 3rd Offense
Wadsworth pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Westborough District Court on July 13, 2026. Following his arraignment, he was released on $250 cash bail.
Wadsworth’s next court date is a disposition hearing scheduled for Aug. 3, 2026.
