BOSTON — A Randolph man has been arrested for selling fentanyl while on federal supervised release for a previous drug trafficking conviction involving the same substance.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, Christian Collins, 24, was charged by criminal complaint with distribution of and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
The charging documents state that Collins allegedly sold fentanyl to a cooperating witness on six occasions between July and August 2026. At the time of the alleged drug sales, Collins was on supervised release for a prior federal fentanyl trafficking conviction. He was sentenced in that case in 2021 to five years in prison followed by four years of supervised release.
Collins remains in federal custody following a detention hearing that took place on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026.
If convicted of the new charge, Collins could face up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million.
U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, Ted E. Docks, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston Division, and Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble announced the charges.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Cutshall of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit is prosecuting the case.
