โDispatch informed us that the apartment complex security guard was with the suspect, later identified as Jesus Rosa Ramosโฆwho is well known to the Leominster Police Department,โ Officer Kinahan said.
According to police, Jesus R. Rosa Ramos, 54, is a resident of Leominster, MA.
When Officer Kinahan arrived on scene, he said he met with the security guard.
โ[The security guard] stated that he was also familiar with Jesus and had decided to observe him,โ Officer Kinahan said. โHe reported that Jesus got off his bicycle, picked up a rock, walked up to the glass door, and threw it through the glass. [The security guard] expressed that he was completely certain it was Jesus and then provided a voluntary written statement.โ
Officer Kinahan said he then observed Ramos standing next to the damaged glass door alongside another security guard.
โIt is important to note that Jesus is deaf and cannot communicate verbally with us,โ Officer Kinahan said. โIt appeared that Jesus was attempting to convey that he did not damage the glass door. While this was happening, a resident from 11 State Street came outside to speak with us.โ
According to Officer Kinahan, the resident said he heard the glass shatter from his apartment but did not see who threw the rock.
โHowever, he did hear someone run down the stairs in the hallway where the incident occurred and saw Jesus standing by the door,โ Officer Kinahan said. โBased on the security guard’s observation and statement, I had probable cause to arrest Jesus. I then placed him under arrest for vandalism.โ
Jesus R. Rosa Ramos, 54, of Leominster, was arrested and charged with:
