GROTON – On Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, Groton police received a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) alert from the Littleton Police Department for a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash in Littleton.
According to the BOLO, a red Ford Mustang Mach-E with Massachusetts plates had left the scene of a crash and was heading west on Route 119.
Groton Police Deputy Chief Rachael Mead said that police responded to the area of Main and Pleasant streets to locate the vehicle.

“Shortly thereafter, officers observed the vehicle traveling westbound on Main Street,” Deputy Chief Mead said. “The operator pulled into a parking lot on Main Street and attempted to park. While doing so, the operator misjudged the parking space, drove over the curb, and struck a bush.”

Police approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Stephen Jarboe, 60, of Townsend.
“After advising Mr. Jarboe of the BOLO issued by the Littleton Police Department, officers observed several indicators of possible alcohol impairment, including a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, glassy and bloodshot eyes, a flushed face, and slurred speech,” Deputy Chief Mead said. “Following an investigation, officers determined that Mr. Jarboe had been operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.”
Stephen Jarboe, 60, of Townsend, was charged with the following:
- OUI-Liquor, Second Offense
- Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle
“At the police station, Mr. Jarboe submitted to a breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.316%,” Deputy Chief Mead said.
Jarboe was arraigned in Ayer District Court.
