WORCESTER — The man accused of stabbing a Worcester Regional Transit Authority bus driver was taken into custody Friday.
According to the Worcester Police Department, Dashaun Stokes-Sims, 28, was placed under arrest at their headquarters. He was arrested on a warrant for armed assault with intent to murder, mayhem and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury.
It’s alleged that on Wednesday, Stokes-Sims entered a bus on Lincoln Street around 2:40 p.m., where he stabbed the driver before fleeing on foot toward Lincoln Plaza. He evaded police for over a day, until he was apprehended.
The bus driver was released from the hospital Thursday after suffering non-life-threatening injuries to his upper body.
There is no known motive for the stabbing at the present time.
