Lowell man arrested after stealing jacket and iPhone, threatening to kill man in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY — On Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at approximately 1:22 p.m., Tewksbury police were dispatched to the area of 95 Main Street, following a report of an unarmed robbery.

According to a statement from Tewksbury’s Police Chief Ryan Columbus, a reporting party told police that an individual known to him, identified as Alphonso Walker Jr., 28, of Lowell, took his jacket, iPhone, and other belongings and threatened to kill him during an argument.

Chief Columbus said that after an “extensive search” of the area involving K9 units and a Tewksbury police drone, officers found Walker hiding near 85 Main Street.

“Walker was taken into custody following a brief struggle,” Chief Columbus said in the statement. “The jacket, phone and other belongings were recovered.”

Alphonso Walker was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Unarmed Robbery
  2. Larceny from a Person
  3. Resisting Arrest (Two Counts)
  4. Threatening to Commit a Crime
  5. Warrant

Walker was arraigned today in Lowell District Court.
