In fiscal year 2023, Town Administrator Brian Doheny was Ashburnham’s top earner with a salary of $163,291, up from $155,214 the previous year, when he was the second highest paid employee of the town.
Brooke Czasnowski, after being promoted to general manager of the Ashburnham Municipal Light Plant (AMLP) following Kevin Sullivan’s departure, was the top-earning woman with $151,880, an increase from her previous $125,997 salary as assistant general manager in the previous fiscal year, The Gardner News reported. Czasnowski is the only woman among the town’s top 10 earners.
Following closely in third and fourth place were Ashburnham Police Department’s Chief Chris Conrad and Sergeant Wade Wright, who earned $145,089 and $141,195, respectively.
AMLP Foreman Jeffrey Schrecke had the fifth highest salary at $138,773 in 2023, up from $130,040 the prior year. Andrew Devoll, a firefighter/EMT and the only representative from the Ashburnham Fire Department in the top 10, received $136,711, an increase from $125,922 in 2022.
Police Sergeants Gregory Cushlaw and Brian Rosengren earned $133,569 and $132,829, respectively. Rounding out the top 10 were AMLP Lineman First Class Jordan Gendron and Lead Lineman Jeremy Holmes, with salaries of $125,463 and $125,032, respectively.
Former AMLP General Manager Kevin Sullivan, who was the highest paid employee the previous year, ranked 12th in 2023 with a salary of $123,554 after leaving in March 2023.
The town employed 150 people in fiscal year 2023, with a total salary budget of $5,577,637. The top 20 earners each had salaries exceeding $100,000.
