AYER — An Ayer resident beat the 1 in 2,016,000 odds and became $1,000,000 richer after winning the second highest prize on the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks” $10 instant ticket game.

On April 5, 2024, Robert H. Pare of Ayer bought the winning ticket with the winnings from a previously played $10 scratch ticket at Nouria, a gas station and convenience store located at 460 King Street in Littleton.

Pare chose the annuity option for his winnings, which means he will receive 20 annual payments of $50,000 (before taxes). He plans on using the money to renovate his home.

Nouria will receive $10,000 for its sale of the winning ticket.
