Leominster — The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office released the name of the man who was fatally stabbed outside of the Riverside Village Apartments early Tuesday morning.
Robert Day, 20, of Leominster, was the victim of the stabbing.
According to a GoFundMe set up to support his family with funeral costs, Day was a football star at Athol High School before transferring and graduating from Leominster High School.

Just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, police responded to the Riverside Village Apartment complex – located at 24 State Street – where Day was found suffering from a stab wound.
He was transported to Leominster Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities have disclosed little information about the stabbing, but according to WCVB, witnesses reported that the stabbing occurred on a basketball court near the apartment complex.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests have been made in the case.
Investigators are requesting help from the public and are actively seeking any video footage of the incident.
