TEMPLETON — At least ten area fire departments responded to a five-alarm house fire at 457 Patriots Road, Friday afternoon.
The blaze was first reported to the Templeton Fire Department at around 3:40 p.m.
When crews first arrived on scene, they observed heavy flames billowing from the first and second floors of the residence. Some flames made their way into the attic.

Upon learning that individuals might be trapped inside the home, first responders triggered a fifth alarm, calling in additional crews to search for potential victims.
All residents and their pets were eventually accounted for.
No first responders or civilians were injured in the blaze, which took fire crews four hours to put out.
Fire departments from Athol, Barre, Fitchburg, Gardner, Hubbardston, Phillipston, Royalston, Westminster, and Winchendon responded to the scene. Ashburnham crews provided coverage at the Templeton station, The Gardner News reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
