Maynard woman arrested for arson and causing injury to a firefighter for allegedly starting house fire last month

MAYNARD — A Maynard woman has been charged with arson and causing injury to a firefighter for allegedly starting a house fire last month on Little Road.

Anabelle Dentino, 26, of Maynard, was arrested following what Maynard police and fire departments called a “diligent” investigation into the cause of a structure fire that took place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at about 11:55 p.m., at 1 Little Road.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to police. One firefighter sustained minor injuries while responding to the blaze.

After the fire, which necessitated mutual aid from Stow, Acton, Sudbury, and Hudson for extinguishment, the Maynard police and fire departments, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, launched an investigation. This investigation led to Dentino being identified as a suspect. Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, she was apprehended without incident on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Maynard police report that the investigation into other incidents at this address remains active and ongoing.
