LEOMINSTER โ At around 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Officer Brett Bourne of the Leominster Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing near 41 Fairmount Place. A woman had called the police, stating that she could hear someone outside on the street shouting that she had been stabbed.

โWhile I was enroute, dispatch advised me via radio that the victim is out in front of 36 Hamilton Street,โ Officer Bourne said. He added that Officer Zachary Schaefer, Officer Klimowicz, Officer Carlos Crespo-Delgado, and Officer Alec Greenawalt were also dispatched to the scene as back up.
โUpon arrival on Hamilton Street, I activated my body worn camera and noticed multiple people standing around two females who were sitting down on the side of the road in front of 36 Hamilton Street,โ Officer Bourne said. โOfficer Schaefer and Officer Greenawalt, who arrived before me, were providing medical aid to the victims who were suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victims were later identified as [name redacted] (a juvenile female referred to as ‘Victim 1’ throughout the article) and Paige [last name redacted].”
Officer Bourne said that Officer Klimowicz showed up to the scene shortly after he did and started to provide aid to Victim 1 with Officer Schaefer.
โI grabbed my medical bag in the rear compartment of my cruiser and helped Officer Greenawalt provide aid to Paige,โ Officer Bourne said. โDue to the heavy bleeding of both victims, I grabbed medical gauze and handed it to Officer Greenawalt to apply pressure to the wound that was profusely bleeding. There was a witness on scene, sitting on the ground with Paige, later identified as [name redacted]. She was holding Paige steady while we provided medical aid. While I was with Paige, I asked Paige questions related to the incident in order to garner as much information about the events that took place and any information on potential suspects. Please note that Paige was suffering from obvious signs of pain, was bleeding profusely, and appeared to be suffering from shock due to the trauma and blood loss. I noticed that there were pools of blood on the ground and what appeared to be a blood trail leading to the apartment complex of 49 Hamilton Street.โ
While administering aid, Officer Bourne questioned Paige to gather information about the attack. Despite showing clear signs of severe pain, shock, and blood loss, Paige was able to relay the following details, as recounted by Officer Bourne:
- โPaige stated that there was a group of four men.โ
- โPaige stated that the group of men attacked her and her friend.โ
- โAt some point during the physical altercation, Paige and [Victim 1] were stabbed with what appeared to be a knife.โ
- โPaige stated that the group of men are part of a gang out of Framingham.โ
- โPaige stated that two of the men go by the nickname ‘D DOT’ and another by the name of Isaac.โ
Officer Bourne stated that he stopped his questioning when Paige began drifting in and out of consciousness and vomited.
โDue to the stress and injuries, I stopped asking questions at this time as Paige was unable to provide me anymore identifying information about the suspects at the given moment,โ Officer Bourne said. โShortly after, Leominster Fire showed up on scene and started to provide medical aid to the victims.โ
Both victims were transported to UMass Memorial Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, Officer Bourne said.
After assisting the victims, Officer Kyle Klimowicz spoke with a witness, later identified as the 25-year-old reporting party who resides at 41 Fairmont Place. She stated that she was home when she heard a woman on the street across from her building screaming that she had been stabbed.
โ[The reporting party] then reportedly yelled out the window at an unidentifiable male party who was allegedly holding onto the victim, yelling at him to โlet her go or I’ll call the police.โ She noted that she then saw the group of male parties take off in a white sedan,โ Officer Klimowicz said. Adding, โI was advised that other witnesses on scene had gotten a license plate of the fleeing vehicle and that Officer Crespo-Delgado had provided it to dispatch. I confirmed the plate came back registered to a white sedan, as what was reported by [the reporting party].โ
After getting the license plate number from the witnesses for the white sedan (specifically, a Hyundai Elantra) the suspects allegedly fled in, police issued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) for the vehicle to neighboring police departments.
Officer Klimowicz was then told by Sergeant Nicole Morrell to go to Fairmont Place, the apartment complex across the street where the stabbing allegedly took place, to look for any other victims and secure the crime scene.
โI searched the outside perimeter of building #49 and noticed the entry door to the building was covered in blood,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โI then knocked on the basement level windows in an attempt to have a resident open the front door.โ
Officer Klimowicz said that Ruby [last name redacted], 22, who was later identified as a party involved in the incident, opened the front door for him.
โAt first encounter, Ruby seemed distraught and in shock, presumably aware of what prompted police presence tonight,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โRuby noted she lives in apartment [number redacted] where the incident began tonight.โ
Officer Klimowicz then accompanied Ruby to her apartment, where Officer Klimowicz took her initial statement about the events of that evening.
According to Officer Klimowicz, Ruby stated that she had met one of the victims, Paige, less than 48 hours earlier through a mutual friend who works for Leominster Taxi. Ruby explained that earlier that evening, she had been hanging out at her apartment with Paige and a younger [juvenile] female friend, having drinks together.
โShe stated that Paige had asked if she could invite three guys over to hang out with them and have drinks, to which Ruby agreed,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โRuby noted that she did not know any of the male parties and that Paige allegedly only knew them from Snapchat. The male parties reportedly came over around 9:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Ruby noted that at one point, one of the male parties left to go pick up a fourth male party. She noted that things escalated throughout the night in which Paige reportedly had sex with two different male parties in the bathroom and that the juvenile female had sex with one of the male parties in the bedroom. Following that, an argument allegedly ensued in the living room when Paige began confronting people for โtaking her vape.โ Ruby reported that โPaige began feeling up the male parties, but not sexually,โ followed by โgrabbing one of the male parties aggressively.โ That male party then responded by allegedly shoving her into the TV stand, knocking her to the ground. Ruby stated Paige and [the man] began throwing punches at one another, with Paige knocking Ruby onto the couch. It was at that moment that Ruby kicked everyone out, citing that the landlord lives across the hall.โ
Ruby noted that while Paige and one of the men were fighting, the other men who had come over that evening were standing in the kitchen. She added that all of the men eventually went outside, with Paige and the juvenile female following them.
โNote that Ruby then allegedly sent Paige a Snapchat saying she was sorry about having to kick everyone out at 12:10 a.m.,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โThis message was sent in a group chat that was created earlier in the day, with Ruby, Paige, the juvenile female, and three male parties. Ruby showed me the group Snapchat thread, in which the three male parties had left the group chat around that 12:10 a.m. time frame. The names were still visible in the chat with the screen names of โKINGโ with a crown emoji, โGabeโ with a swirly eye emoji, โIsaac,โ and [screen name redacted] (whom Ruby identified as Paige). She noted that earlier, one of the male parties sent a photo in that group chat of the steering wheel of a car, stating they were on their way over.โ
Officer Klimowicz added, โNote that Ruby also stated she took a โselfieโ of the group in her living room, and posted it on her story. She identified the aforementioned male party who had gotten into a physical altercation with Paige as being the white male, approximately 5’9, with light blue jeans, black sweatshirt with a red/pink logo across the chest, black shoes, with curly brown hair that was shaved on the sides. Ruby sent me a copy of that photo, which is attached to this report. I provided that photo to Officer Bourne and Officer Schaeffer, as they were time-sensitively working on linking the alleged involved white sedan, to an occupant or driver. Ruby then explained that when everyone had left her apartment and were outside, that was when she reportedly heard Paige screaming, which she believed to be about her missing vape. Unbeknownst to her, Paige and the younger female were stabbed outside during an argument involving the male parties.โ

Officer Klimowicz reported that Ruby identified several items in the apartment that she said did not belong to her. These included two Brisk Pink Lemonade bottles (which she claimed the aggressor male had sprayed at them), black Crocs (belonging to Paige), a black iPhone (believed to be the juvenile femaleโs), a red hoodie (which she thought belonged to one of the men), ChapStick (which she also believed belonged to one of the men), a backpack near the couch (believed to be Paige’s), and a yellow vape pen (which she thought might belong to either the juvenile female or one of the men). Ruby clarified that Paigeโs vape pen was blue. These items, along with two used condoms that Ruby stated she found in the bathroom, were later collected as evidence.
โI asked Ruby to avoid the bathroom and the bedroom where sex occurred and avoid touching anything that did not belong to her, and informed her the detectives were on their way to interview her,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โI then assisted Officer Schaeffer in securing the crime scene outside, while awaiting the detectives. I then briefed Detective [Juan] Ramos and Sgt. Morrell on Ruby’s account of what occurred, including showing them the photograph that Ruby took and identified the aggressor male party in. I then assisted Detective Ramos, Detective Bouchard, and Sgt. Morrell in talking with Ruby in her apartment where the incident reportedly began. Ruby’s statements were consistent with what she had told me when I had interviewed her earlier. While speaking with her, Officer Bourne notified us that Milford PD [Police Department] had pulled over that reported white sedan.โ
Milford police identified the driver of the white sedan as Robson DeSousa.
According to police, Robson Junior Pires DeSousa, Jr., 19, is a resident of 44 Winter Street, Apt. 1, Milford, MA.
Officer Bourne noted in his Statement of Facts that blood evidence was later discovered on the vehicle’s door handles and visible inside the vehicle, as well as on Mr. DeSousaโs clothing. โItโs also important to note that Mr. DeSousa was the sole occupant in the vehicle when Milford PD pulled him over, and that a knife was found in his possession during a search incident to arrest, which could potentially have been used in the assault involving Paige and [Victim 1]. The blood on his clothing and other evidence gathered align with the injuries sustained by both Paige and [Victim 1],โ Bourne stated.
After learning from Milford police about DeSousa’s apprehension, Officer Klimowicz reported that, after consulting with Sgt. Morrell, Detective Bouchard, and Detective Ramos, they determined there was probable cause to arrest DeSousa for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The driverโs description matched the male suspect identified by Ruby as the one who had assaulted Paige by pushing her into the TV stand. Milford PD informed them over the phone that DeSousa had a knife, an unused condom, and blood on his jeans. Following this, Klimowicz was instructed to go to the Milford Police Department with Officer Schaeffer to transport DeSousa back to the Leominster Police Department for booking.
โOn arrival at Milford PD, I was made aware by the two processing officers that this same male party was involved in a prior stabbing of similar circumstances and that prior to our arrival, he had stated โhe was not going down for this one this time,โโ Officer Klimowicz said. โThey noted that he stated he had dropped off his friends, which Milford officers believed may have been in the Framingham area according to their license plate camera tracking system. Prior to prisoner transport and the vehicle tow, I observed the white sedan they had towed, having what appeared to be blood on the rear driver’s side door handle, driver’s door handle, rear driver’s side seat, and on the steering wheel. I also noticed a black handled folding knife in the center console alongside two cell phones, and a wallet. I took photographs of the vehicle and noted items in the vehicle from the outside, before it was towed by Quality Towing back to the LPD [Leominster Police Department] for processing. Myself and Officer Schaeffer then transported the male arrestee to LPD for booking and processing by Lieutenant Donnelly.โ
DeSousa was charged with two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
DeSousaโs bail was set at $10,000.
DeSousa was arraigned by Judge Jaclyn Greenhalgh in Leominster District Court on Oct. 11, 2024. Following his arraignment, DeSousa was released on bail with the potential of bail revocation under the condition that he stay away from/not contact the “alleged” victims and witnesses.
DeSousa is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 7, 2024, for a pretrial hearing.
