Boston police investigating fatal shooting of man in Charlestown Saturday night

BOSTON — Boston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Charlestown last night.

At around 10:33 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2024, Boston police officers assigned to Charlestown (District A-15), responded to 140 Main Street following a report that a pedestrian had been struck at that location, the Boston Police Department said in a statement.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male lying on the ground in the parking lot of 140 Main Street. Further investigation revealed the victim had actually been shot.

Boston EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities have not disclosed the victim’s name.
