“Upon arrival, I was met by the caller, John [last name redacted],” Officer Flory said. “He explained to me that he believed that his step son, Mark Pearl, was to blame for his vehicle being damaged. I asked John to show me the damage on his vehicle. He then directed my attention to his 2007 BMW SUV. There were visible dents all around the vehicle as well as Patriots football logos drawn on different spots on the vehicle.”

According to police, Mark A. Pearl, 34, whose last known address was 128 Rollstone Street in Fitchburg, MA, is currently homeless.

“John explained to me that yesterday, he was working at Christopher’s Pub when his step son entered the bar,” Officer Flory recounted. “He allowed Mark to stay despite prior issues with Mark at the establishment. After a few drinks, John walked to his home on Cotton Street at approximately 7:00 p.m. John stated he left the vehicle in the rear parking lot of Christopher’s. He then stated he walked past his vehicle at 9:30 p.m. while walking to a store and the vehicle was fine. When he returned to get his vehicle this morning, he noticed the damage. John stated that he suspects it was Mark because Mark knows what vehicle he drives and knows he is a Patriots fan.”

While Officer Flory was on scene, John called the owner of Christoper’s Pub and asked him to come down and grant them access to the establishment’s security camera footage. As part of the investigation, Officer Flory also attempted to speak with the suspect.

“At this time, I have been unable to speak with Mark. Mark is currently homeless and has frequent dealings with Leominster Police,” Officer Flory said. “On Jan. 5, 2025, Mark Pearl was in police custody for an unrelated matter. While in custody, I asked Mark if he would be willing to speak with me in regards to this matter and he stated he would not.”

According to Officer Flory, on Jan. 12, 2025, John came to the Leominster Police Department headquarters with the surveillance footage from Christopher’s Pub that showed Pearl damaging his vehicle.

Officer Flory requested the court issue a summons for Pearl on the following charge:

  • Vandalize Property (for damaging John’s vehicle)

Pearl was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Jan. 24, 2025.
