Worcester police gang unit arrests man with five warrants, seizes loaded large-capacity firearm and Oxycodone

WORCESTER — On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., Worcester Police Gang Unit officers executed a search warrant at a Fiske Street address.

According to a statement from the Worcester Police Department, officers entered the apartment and found 32-year-old Lakeam Bennett, who had five active warrants for his arrest, including previous firearms-related charges.

Police also discovered what appeared to be a loaded firearm, for which Bennett did not have a license, along with suspected Oxycodone pills, which he lacked a prescription for.

Bennett was arrested in his apartment.

In addition to his outstanding warrants, Bennett was charged with the following:

  1. Unlawfully Carrying a Firearm
  2. Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  3. Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  4. Improper Storage of a Firearm
  5. Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
  6.  Resisting Arrest
  7. Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
