โThe vehicle was a black Mazda bearing MA registration [redacted],โ Sgt. Jeffrey said. โI pulled out as the vehicle went past and accelerated away from me. I began to follow the vehicle, but it seemed to pick up speed and turned onto Chace Street. I was eventually able to catch up to the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on Chace Street by Schobert Street. I communicated with CPD [Clinton Police Department] Dispatch by radio the details of the stop.โ

Sgt. Jeffrey approached the operator of the vehicle and identified himself.
โI advised him I had stopped him for speeding,โ Sgt. Jeffrey said. โHe complied with my requests and provided his license (identifying him as [โฆ] Vaughn Nangle) and the vehicle registration.โ
According to police, Vaughn Dale Nangle, 26, is a resident of 290 Berlin Street, Apt. 42, Clinton, MA.
โI returned to my cruiser where I learned the vehicle had an active registration but Mr. Nangle’s license status is suspended,โ Sgt. Jeffrey said. โCPD Dispatch confirmed this. I requested an additional unit as backup and a tow truck for the vehicle.โ
At this time, Sgt. Jeffrey Notaro arrived on the scene and both officers approached Nangleโs vehicle.
โI asked Mr. Nangle to step out of the vehicle, guided him to the area behind his vehicle, and advised him he was under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license,โ Sgt. Jeffrey said. โI placed him in handcuffs and performed a search incident to his arrest. He seemed surprised by the fact his license was suspended, but cooperated fully.โ
Sgt. Jeffrey transported Nangle to the Clinton Police Department, while Officer Notaro performed an inventory of the vehicle and supervised the tow by Guaranty Auto.
โOnce at CPD [the Clinton Police Department], Nangle was booked pursuant to CPD written department policy and afforded all rights of an arrested person,โ Sgt. Jeffrey said. โI issued him Mass Uniform Citation #039810AD, charging him with speeding and operating with a suspended license. Mr. Nangle was later transported to Clinton District Court for arraignment.โ
