Clinton man arrested after traffic stop for unlicensed operation and expired inspection sticker

CLINTON — On Friday, March 7, 2025, at approximately 5:34 p.m., Clinton Police Officer Brian O’Malley was monitoring traffic on Chestnut Street when he observed a Toyota Tundra with Massachusetts plates pass by. Officer Robert Champagne of the Clinton Police Department was with him at the time.

“I entered the plate through my MDT [Mobile Data Terminal],” Officer O’Malley said. “The information came back as a 2006 Toyota Tundra with an expired inspection sticker. I conducted a traffic stop on Chestnut Street, and spoke with the operator who was advised of the reason for the stop. The operator later identified as Heber Ordonez Santos stated he did not have a license and handed me a passport.”

According to police, Heber Ordonez Santos, 48, is a residence of Lawrence Street in Clinton, MA.

“I was able to confirm that he did not have an active license,” Officer O’Malley said.

Santos was placed under arrest and transported to the Clinton Police Department for booking.

“Officer Champagne remained on scene with the vehicle which was picked up by a properly license party,” Officer O’Malley said.
