According to police, Eric Brockway, 54, is a resident of 63 Flint Street, Somerville, MA.
“I spoke to Eric and asked him to come to the Somerville Police Department to speak in person,” Det. Pasqualino said. “Eric immediately agreed to speak with me at the station. Once at the station, I met with Eric in the lobby, and then directed him to an interview room located within the Detective Bureau. While in the room Detective M[ark] Pulli and I introduced ourselves and informed Eric that the interview will be audio and video recorded.”
Detective Pasqualino advised Brockway of his Miranda rights, and Brockway confirmed his understanding by responding, “Yes.”
“In the interview I asked Eric if he knew why I asked him to come in and meet with me and he replied ‘Yes,’” Det. Pasqualino recounted. “I asked Eric if there was anything he wanted to tell me about the damage that had occurred to a vehicle on his street and he replied ‘No.’ It was at this point I presented a video clip of Eric damaging the 2024 Tesla by keying it along the driver side. Immediately upon seeing the video Eric admitted to causing the damage. I asked Eric why he damaged the car and his answer was that he was fed up with people parking on his street that did not live there.”
Det. Pasqualino added, “A second vehicle was damaged recently in the same spot, but this time a note was left on the vehicle. I asked Eric about the second vehicle being damaged but he denied damaging it. Eric did however admit to leaving a note on the car.”
Brockway was charged with one count of Defacement Malicious Wanton Property.
