“Ms. [name redacted] informed me that she doesn’t usually lock her back door because there are no stairs for anyone to have access to get in through that back porch door,” Officer Prophete said. “The suspect later identified as Mr. Tammuz Nafrere had to jump up and climb over the railings to access Ms. [name redacted]’s back porch door.”

According to police, Tammuz Nafrere, 22, is a resident of 26 Columbia Road, Dorchester, MA.

“While Officer David Ruff was searching the area, he spotted Mr. Tammuz Nafrerea matching the description given over the air at 79 Craigie St, Morse-Kelley Park,” Officer Prophete said.

Officer Ruff stopped Nafrere and asked him where he was coming from.

“Mr. Nafrere answered voluntarily admitted to entering Ms. [name redacted]’s apartment,” Officer Prophete said. “He stated, ‘It was a misunderstanding I thought that location was a coffee shop and I was just looking for somewhere to sit and rest for the night.’”

According to Officer Prophete, after another responding officer, Klye Lentini, read Nafrere his Miranda warnings from a card he carries on his person, Nafrere “acknowledged he understood his rights and stopped talking.”

Nafrere was placed under arrest without incident.

“While in handcuffs Mr. Nafrere stated, ‘I didn’t mean to scare her, I can go back and apologize,’” Officer Prophete said.

Officer Lentini conducted a body search of Nafrere.

Nafrere was transported to the Somerville Police Department where he was booked on a charge of Breaking and Entering Nighttime for Felony.
