LEOMINSTER — On Monday, February 17, 2025, Officer Zachary Kinahan of the Leominster Police Department was dispatched to 22 Gates Crossing following a report of a “domestic verbal.”

“On arrival, Officer Edge and I were greeted at the door by [a woman],” Officer Kinahan said. “[She] escorted us upstairs where we met with [her] husband, Dereck Tebo, in the kitchen.”

According to police, Dereck R. Tebo, 29, is a resident of 22 Gates Crossing, Apt. 22, Leominster, MA.

“Officer Edge brought [the wife] into the living room while I stayed with Dereck in the kitchen,” Officer Kinahan said.

Officer Kinahan said that at this time, Sgt. Mao and Officer Salvi walked into the house.

“I noticed Dereck’s hand was injured with lacerations on his knuckles and asked what happened,” Officer Kinahan said. “Dereck advised that he was angry and punched a hole through his upstairs bedroom door.”

Officer Salvi inspected Dereck’s injured hand with a flashlight.

“Dereck was slurring his words and stumbling around the kitchen,” Officer Kinahan noted. “Dereck was continuously bringing up the fact that he’s a taxpayer. Dereck had stated that he had multiple drinks today. Dereck had then stated that he was a Trump supporter and that if we were not also supporters of Trump that there would be an issue.”

Officer Kinahan stated that Dereck’s wife then shouted to Dereck, “maybe you should go upstairs and go to bed.” At that moment, Dereck suddenly stopped talking and looked past Officer Salvi, directly at Officer Edge and his wife.

“Dereck became extremely agitated, shouting racial comments at Officer Edge and accusing [his wife] of ‘talking to men,’” Officer Kinahan said. “Dereck attempted to walk towards Officer Edge and [his wife] multiple times while shouting the slurs directed at Officer Edge.”

Officer Salvi, who happened to be standing between Officer Edge and Dereck, raised his hand and ordered Dereck to stay where he was.

“Dereck failed to listen to Officer Salvi’s orders and began closing the distance between Officer Edge and himself,” Officer Kinahan recounted. “It was at that point Dereck was so close to Officer Salvi that only an arrest could cease his intentions to approach Officer Edge. Officer Salvi and I grabbed him and placed him in handcuffs. While putting the handcuffs on Derek, he threatened to kill both me and my family. Dereck was arrested for assault (upon Officer Edge).”

Officer Kinahan added, “In handcuffs, while walking outside to the cruiser, Dereck was continuously shouting, calling Officer Salvi a ‘fa$$ot’ and a ‘pu$$y’ and also attempted to advance towards him and make physical contact with him while in handcuffs. Because his efforts were threatening in nature and caused a risk of injury, probable cause existed for disorderly conduct.”

Officer Salvi then transported Dereck to the Leominster Police Department while Officer Edge and Officer Kinahan stayed to inform his wife of her 209a [Abuse Prevention Order] rights.

“[Dereck’s wife] declined to apply for an emergency restraining order against Dereck, stating that she was not threatened by Dereck and was not assaulted by him,” Officer Kinahan said. “I left [her] a copy of the Abused Person Notice of Rights [form]. Officer Edge and I then cleared without further issue.”

Tebo was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Disorderly Conduct

Tebo was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Feb. 18, 2025. Following his arraignment, he was released on his own personal recognizance under the condition that he refrain from alcohol.

His next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 21, 2025.

  1. LOL Taxpayer and Trump support obviously means “above the law” (see 34 felony convictions & Jan 6 pardons)

  2. Charged with Assault? For being too close to a cop in his own kitchen?? Leominster cops are SOFT!!!
