Clinton firefighters contain brush fire between Green and Cedar streets

CLINTON — The Clinton Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the area of 163 Green Street on Tuesday evening, according to a statement from the department.

Crews arrived around 7:10 p.m. to find approximately half an acre burning in the woods between Green Street and Cedar Street.

Due to the steep terrain and size of the fire, additional units were called in. Engine 6 attacked the fire from the top of the hill, while Forestry 1 and Engine 4 worked from the base.

The Clinton Fire Drone Unit helped locate hotspots as crews spent about an hour and a half overhauling the hillside.

The fire was quickly brought under control, and firefighters cleared the scene around 8:45 p.m.

The Boylston and Lancaster fire departments covered the town during the incident.
