ATHOL — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred in Athol this past winter, following a lengthy investigation aided by the FBI and multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to a press release from the Athol Police Department, the arrests took place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, after two separate search warrants were executed in town with assistance from multiple local, state, and federal agencies.
The suspects — identified as Dante Machuca and Andrew Poor — were taken into custody and later arraigned in Orange District Court on May 30. Both face the following charges:
- Home Invasion
- Armed Assault in a Dwelling
- Armed Assault to Rob
- Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (handgun)
- Assault and Battery
- Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm Without a License
The Athol Police Department thanked all the agencies that contributed to the investigation, with special recognition given to Athol Officers Paul Forand and Detective Sergeant Douglas Kaczmarczyk.
