BELLINGHAM — A bicyclist died this afternoon after a crash involving a vehicle driven by a juvenile, according to an updated press release from the Bellingham Police Department.
At approximately 12:44 p.m. on June 9, 2025, Bellingham Police and Fire Departments responded to 120 South Main Street following reports of a crash involving a bicyclist. First responders found the bicyclist, a 60-year-old man from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, with critical injuries. Emergency personnel administered medical care before transporting him to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver involved, identified as a juvenile from Sutton, Massachusetts, remained at the scene, was evaluated by emergency personnel, and transported to Milford Regional Medical Center.
Following a preliminary investigation, police have issued a criminal citation to the juvenile for the following offenses:
- Motor Vehicle Homicide
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
The incident remains under investigation by Bellingham Police Accident Reconstruction Officer Ryan Gonthier, assisted by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
