ASHBURNHAM โ On Saturday, May 24, 2025, at approximately 1:48 a.m., Officer Scott Cormier of the Ashburnham Police Department was conducting traffic enforcement on Main Street when he observed a 2018 Nissan Rogue with Massachusetts plates travelling westbound.

โI conducted a query of the plate which revealed that the owner of the vehicle (Jolene Malonson of Winchendon, MA) had an active warrant,โ Officer Cormier said.
Officer Cormier said that he conducted a stop of the vehicle on Winchendon Road and, upon approaching, observed two occupants inside.
โOnce at the window, I observed the operator to match the RMV photo for Jolene Malonson,โ Officer Cormier recounted. โI asked for her license which confirmed her to be Malonson.โ
According to police, Jolene F. Malonson, 48, is a resident of Garnder Road in Winchendon, MA.

โAt this time, I advised Malonson to provide me with the keys to the vehicle,โ Officer Cormier said. โI then asked Malonson to step out of the car and placed her in handcuffs (double locked and checked for tightness). I advised Malonson that there was an active warrant for her arrest and that she was only detained at this time while I confirmed the warrant with dispatch.โ
Officer Cormier said that after confirming the warrant, he advised Malonson that she was under arrest and placed her in the rear of a cruiser.
โWhile advising Officer [Hiram] Velazquez that the vehicle was being retrieved by Malonson’s mother, Officer Velazquez pointed his flashlight at the driver’s seat of the vehicle (where Malonson was previously located),โ Officer Cormier said. โI observed in plain view what appeared to be a glass pipe with white residue. From my training and experience, I recognized this to be a pipe used to smoke narcotics such as crack cocaine.โ
Officer Cormier said that after placing the pipe into an evidence bag, he transported Malonson to the Ashburnham Police Station for booking. He added that Officer Velazquez remained on scene to wait for Malonsonโs mother to retrieve the vehicle.
โMalonson was evaluated by EMS after admitting (after Miranda rights given) to using crack cocaine, fentanyl, and mushrooms hours prior and signed a refusal,โ Officer Cormier said. โThe pipe was placed into evidence upon the booking process being completed to be sent to the MSP [Massachusetts State Police] lab for testing at a later date.โ
Malonson was charged with Possess Class B Drug (crack cocaine).
Malonsonโs arraignment was scheduled for May 27, 2025, in Winchendon District Court.
