โ€œUpon arrival to the area, I noticed a male in front of 19E Meadow Pond Drive that was looking down and unsteady on his feet,โ€ Officer Tyler Labell said. โ€œA vehicle pulled up next to me and identified themself as the caller. The caller, later identified as [name redacted] pointed to the male I noticed and stated she saw him going up to vehicles, look inside, and check door handles.โ€

Officer Labell asked the reporting party if she would wait while he went to speak with the man. The officer then drove over to the man in his cruiser and exited his cruiser.

โ€œI began having a conversation with the male,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œThe male was slurring his speech. I asked for his name and he stated Chris Burque.โ€

According to police, Christopher S. Burque, 57, is a resident of Day Street in Leominster, MA.

โ€œI asked Chris if he had any identification on him and he stated no,โ€ Officer Labell said.

At this time, Officer Labell asked for another officer to respond to the scene.

โ€œI asked Chris why he was there. Chris stated that he was washing the doors and stuff,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œI asked Chris for a business card. Chris stated that he did not have one and asked if I wanted him to call his boss.โ€

Officer Labell then asked Burque what his bossโ€™ name was.

โ€œChris stated โ€˜Nate,โ€™ but could not tell me a last name and could not remember his phone number,โ€ Officer Labell recounted. โ€œI asked Chris what he meant by โ€˜washingโ€™ because he did not have any equipment with him. Chris just stated cleaning the doors and pointed to the buildings.โ€

Officer Labell noted that the doors to the condominiums were all behind a gate to the property.

โ€œChris was still slurring speech and swaying while I spoke with him,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œI asked Chris how much he had to drink and he responded nothing.โ€

Officer Labell asked Burque is he needed an ambulance and he stated no.

โ€œChris began walking to Building 19G. I asked Chris if he knew who lived there, and he stated, โ€˜No,โ€™โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œChris stated that he opened the gate earlier and โ€˜squirted it.โ€™ I asked, โ€˜Squirted what?โ€™ and he repeated, โ€˜I opened it up and squirted from the outside.โ€™ Chris did not have any equipment with him. Chris stated that his boss, โ€˜Nate,โ€™ told him to clean them. Chris did not know any more information about his boss or the company.โ€

Officer Labell said that Burque then stated that he lives at [# redacted] Day Street, which is on the other side of the city.

โ€œDispatch confirmed the information of Christopher Burke,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œDispatch informed me that Chris has a suspended license and Breaking & Entering on his Board of Probation [record]. I asked Officer [Mackenson] Adescar to stay with Chris while I went to speak to the caller again.”

The reporting party told Officer Labell that she serves on the board of the FallBrook Condominium Association.

โ€œ[The reporting party] stated that Chris picked up her box with a hose and began walking but did not get far and put it down,โ€ Officer Labell said.

The reporting party said she saw Burque peer into vehicles and then saw him open the door of a gray Ford Escape with Massachusetts plates.

โ€œ[The reporting party] stated that she saw Chris pick up a black backpack in the vehicle and begin going through it,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œ[The reporting party] approached Chris and confronted him. [She] stated she did not believe he took anything, but was not sure.โ€

The reporting party then pointed out the gray Ford Escape Burque allegedly broke into to Officer Labell.

โ€œI ran the vehicle over to dispatch and it came back to Ms. [name redacted] out of 25F Meadow Pond Drive,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œ[The reporting party] also stated that she saw Chris open the gate to 25K Meadow Pond Drive. [She] stated that if Chris was hired to clean doors, she would know because she is on the board.โ€

Officer Labell went up to 25F and knocked on the door. A woman opened the door and Officer Labell asked her if the gray Ford Escape was her vehicle.

At first the woman stated that it was her daughterโ€™s car.

โ€œI informed [the woman] that the vehicle is registered to her so she is the owner,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œ[The woman] got her daughter, [name redacted] as well to speak with me. I explained to them what had happened. [The womanโ€™s daugther] stated that she did not lock the vehicle. We went to the car to double check to make sure nothing was stolen.โ€

The woman and her daughter looked through the Ford Escape to see if anything was stolen.

โ€œ[The womanโ€™s daughter] had a green wristlet and a black backpack like [her mother] explained in the vehicle,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œ[The daughter] checked through everything and did not seem to have anything missing.โ€

Officer Labell then walked over to where Officer Adescar and Burque were.

โ€œI advised Chris that he was under arrest for breaking and entering into a motor vehicle,โ€ Officer Labell said. โ€œChris stood up and I placed handcuffs on his wrists, checked for tightness, and double locked them. I transported Chris to the Police Station for booking.โ€

Burque was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking & Entering Vehicle/Boat Daytime for Felony

Burque was arraigned in Leominster District Court on May 30, 2025.

Following his arraignment, he was released on personal recognizance under the condition that he stay away from the Meadow Pond Drive apartment complex.

Burqueโ€™s next court date is a pretrial conference scheduled for July 14, 2025.
