Springfield police ask for public’s help locating car in deadly Bowles Street hit-and-run

SPRINGFIELD — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a white Acura sedan that struck and killed a pedestrian this morning on Bowles Street.

According to the Springfield Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Bowles Street around 10:20 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, following a reported single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

When police arrived on scene, they found an adult female victim who was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman did not remain on scene.

The Springfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit is actively investigating the incident in coordination with Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit.

Authorities released surveillance images of the suspected vehicle — a white Acura sedan — and are asking anyone who sees the car or knows its whereabouts to contact police immediately at (413) 787-6300.
