FITCHBURG — A one-alarm fire destroyed a garage on Pratt Road and damaged two adjacent buildings this afternoon, according to Fitchburg Fire Chief Dante Suarez.
Fitchburg fire crews were dispatched at 2:41 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, following a report of a building fire.
When crews arrived on scene, they were met with a fully involved garage with exposures, Chief Suarez said.
“Fire was knocked down but not before radiant heat caused damage to both exposure buildings on either side of the garage,” Chief Suarez said, adding that the fire is suspicious and is being investigated as such.
The fire remained at one alarm throughout, with three fire engines and one ladder engine responding to the scene in total.
“Fortunately today’s heat did not affect fire operations dramatically as the fire was knocked down quickly,” Chief Suarez said.
No injuries were reported.
I wouldn’t be surprised there’s a lot of drug activity the house on the other street.
