WESTBOROUGH — A fatal motorcycle crash is under investigation after a 26-year-old Worcester man was critically injured in a collision at Speedway Plaza on Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from Westborough Police Chief Todd Minardi, Westborough police and fire personnel were dispatched at approximately 12:24 p.m. on June 23, 2025, to the rear driveway of Speedway Plaza, located at 290 Turnpike Road, following reports of a motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival, police and fire personnel located the operator unresponsive in a grassy area near the driveway. A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling westbound when it veered off the pavement and struck a concrete light pole base. The motorcycle came to rest shortly afterward. Police say no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Westborough Fire Department paramedics initiated advanced life-saving measures and transported the rider to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, Chief Minardi said.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending full notification of next of kin.
The Westborough Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation in coordination with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. No additional information was released as of Tuesday.
Police said updates will be provided as they become available.
