Driver crashes into Westborough plaza sign, closing Turnpike Road entrance

WESTBOROUGH — A vehicle crashed into the sign outside of Westmeadow Plaza this afternoon, temporarily closing the Turnpike Road entrance to the shopping center.

At approximately 4:10 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, the Westborough Police Department announced on Facebook that officers and firefighters were responding to a single-vehicle crash involving a white Mazda SUV, which had struck the Westmeadow Plaza sign. The department said the Turnpike Road entrance and exit were closed while crews worked to clear the scene.

The car struck the plaza’s sign near the entrance, damaging the structure and coming to rest in the landscaped area beneath it. Police urged motorists to use caution in the area while the vehicle was being removed and the scene was cleared.

No information was immediately provided regarding the driver’s condition or the cause of the crash. As of publication, no injuries had been reported.
