Family identifies 8-year-old boy who drowned in pond near Clinton apartment complex

CLINTON — An 8-year-old boy who drowned Wednesday near the Clinton Housing Authority’s Harborview Apartments on Lakeside Avenue has been identified by family members as Brady Cassidy.

According to a joint statement from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the Clinton Police Department, Clinton police responded to the area of Lakeside Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on June 25, 2025. A short time later, Cassidy was found unresponsive in a nearby body of water, identified by Boston 25 as Mossy Pond.

Emergency personnel transported the boy to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Cassidy’s grandmother told Boston 25 News reporter Ryan Breslin that her grandson loved music and the children’s television show Paw Patrol. She also said he was non-verbal and had autism.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Clinton Police Department and State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
