Police investigate bomb threat at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport

LONDONDERRY, NH — Just after midnight on August 7, 2025, the Londonderry Police Department was alerted by New Boston police to a possible threat involving the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

According to Lieutenant Garrett Malloy of the Londonderry Police Department, the report suggested a possible explosive device inside a vehicle parked in the airport’s garage.

“Officers assigned to the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, along with additional patrol officers from Londonderry, responded quickly to assess the situation and determine the validity of the threat,” Lt. Malloy said in the statement. Adding, “While law enforcement personnel worked to clear the parking garage and surrounding areas, further information was received indicating that the caller may have been armed with an AR-15 rifle.”

Early in the investigation, police suspected the threat was likely a hoax. A thorough search revealed no explosive device, and the report was deemed unfounded.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., the area was cleared and determined to pose no immediate threat to the public.

“The Londonderry Police Department would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation as officers worked to ensure the safety and security of the airport and surrounding area,” Lt. Malloy said.

Londonderry Police are still investigating the origin of the false threat.
