MEDFORD — Two fires in the woods behind Medford High School in recent days are under investigation as potentially suspicious.
According to a statement from the Medford Police Department, the first fire occurred on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., while the second broke out just after midnight on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Members of the Medford Police Department, the Medford Fire Department, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation responded to the fires.
Although the causes remain unknown, police said both incidents are being considered potentially suspicious.
Police are asking anyone who saw unusual activity in the area or who has information about the fires to call the Medford police at (781) 395-1212.
