Webster police investigating Pleasant Street gunfire between man in car and pedestrian; no suspects found

WEBSTER — On Friday night, Aug. 8, 2025, Webster police night-shift officers responded to Pleasant Street for a report of a disturbance involving gunfire.

According to a statement from the Webster Police Department, the caller reported that as she was driving on Pleasant Street, she observed a man who was the passenger in a vehicle, shooting at another man who was on foot.

Since the incident took place close to the Webster/Dudley town line, Dudley police officers also responded to the scene to assist.

Officers searched Pleasant Street but found no victim or ballistic evidence. Officer Nicholas Caruso spoke with the caller, who reported seeing a man point a silver handgun from a vehicle toward a pedestrian. The caller said she then heard several loud popping sounds before the man on foot fled.

The vehicle left the area heading toward Dudley/Oxford. While at the scene, officers learned from another witness that a fight between two men had occurred on Pleasant Street just before the incident.

Police obtained a description of the vehicle and issued a regional BOLO (Be on the Lookout) to nearby agencies. No gunshot wound victims have been reported to the department by any area hospitals.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and remains under investigation by Officer Caruso.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Webster police detectives at (508) 943-1212.
